Man Killed by Kinsman over N1,200 Debt

Police have arrested a middle aged man, Mr Joshua Anyanwoke, for allegedly killing his kinsman over N1,200 debt. He hails from Ozatta village in Ukwa West LGA of Abia State.

Commissioner of Police, Mr Leye Oyebade, who disclosed this while parading some suspects yesterday in Umuahia, gave the name of the victim as Paul Ezinwa, who also hailed from the same village with the suspect.
He said the incident took place on May 19, 2017, adding that it was the suspect that reported himself to the police.

According to the police boss, the suspect armed with a machete, had stormed the victim’s house on the said date and demanded payment of the debt but the victim could not pay.

He said that the suspect out of anger gave the victim some machete cuts on the neck region. He later died on the way to the hospital due to heavy bleeding.

The CP said the victim’s body had been deposited in the mortuary while the suspect would soon be arraigned for murder.

Also paraded was a fake pastor and operator of a medical centre in Aba who allegedly converted his clinic to a baby factory.

The suspect, Chris Tochukwu from Ogidi in Anambra State was said to be habouring five pregnant teenagers in the clinic with the intention of collecting and selling their babies after birth.

One of the inmates rescued from the clinic, Imeboh Udoh from Akwa Ibom State, said her 2-year-old baby disappeared from the clinic after the fake pastor haboured them for about two weeks.

She stated that she came to Aba early this year with her baby begging arms at the Main Park area of the commercial city when the man saw her and promised to help her and provide shelter for her and her baby.
